A car rollover caused traffic chaos on a major Perth freeway on Tuesday afternoon.

Motorists on Kwinana Freeway southbound faced huge delays after two cars collided near Roe Highway in Jandakot about 4pm.

The crash caused one of the cars to roll and land on its side.

St John WA, police and firefighters rushed to the scene.

The driver suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital via ambulance.

Firefighting crews and tow trucks assisted with cleaning up the road.

Main Roads WA confirmed the right lane was blocked and at one point, traffic was backed up all the way to Leach Highway.

Drivers in the area were urged to proceed with caution.

There has also been delays on Tonkin Highway southbound near Horrie Miller drive after a crash around 5.30pm.

Traffic was heavy due to the left emergency lane being blocked.
